50 Kurus. (Not issued).

Dark Brown on lilac.

Obverse: Portrait of President I. lnonu at right.

Reverse: Bank.

Watermark: I lnonu.

Printer: BWC.

Catalogue: #133.

Grade: aUNC with some brown spots, yellow reverse right due to salt.

"This banknote issue was on a ship bombed by the Germans while at Piraeus Harbour near the beginning of WWII. Subsequent retrieval by Greek citizens caused the Turkish government to cancel the issue and arrange for another instead.

All the examples of these notes (#133) were rescued from the sea; therefore, practically all show signs of salt water damage."
